About Angélique Mimi
Born and raised in Nürnberg, Angélique is a dedicated and passionate dancer who has been honing her craft since childhood. Trained across a wide range of dance styles, with a particular focus on urban disciplines, she has become renowned for her electrifying solo performances in Voguing and her dynamic Hip-Hop/Streetdance showcases as a member of the celebrated crew, Team Recycled. Angélique’s artistry is marked by her exceptional freestyle abilities, as well as her skill in creating and executing intricate choreographies.
As Legendary Angélique Prodigy, she is one of the most influential figures in the European ballroom scene and belongs to Germany’s first generation of voguers. In 2014, she made history as the first German dancer to join an American ballroom house, the esteemed Iconic House of Prodigy. Since then, she has become a force on the global stage, competing and triumphing in ballroom events across Europe (Italy, England, France, Germany, and more) and the United States (Los Angeles, Oakland, Orlando, New York City).
Internationally celebrated for her Hands Performance and distinctive Vogue Fem/Women’s Performance, Angélique reached a major milestone in 2018 when she was named the official Mother of Germany for her house—a role she held until 2022. In 2019, she became the first German to win the prestigious Latex Ball in New York City, solidifying her position as a global ballroom star. Her achievements continued with the Women’s Performance of the Year Award in Atlanta in 2022. In 2023, her contributions and impact were recognized on the highest level when she was deemed “Legendary” in Miami—one of the greatest honors in ballroom culture. To this day, she remains the only performance legend in Germany, embodying excellence and innovation in the art of ballroom.
Beyond her accomplishments in the ballroom world, Angélique has showcased her talents on major platforms, including television appearances such as ECHO, ZDF Fernsehgarten, ProSieben Got to Dance, and the UEFA Opening Ceremony. She has also graced the big screen, appearing in films like Into the Beat, StreetDancer 3D, and Axolotl Overkill. In the world of theater and performance art, she collaborated with the Bode-Museum and the opera-dance production Flying Hänsel und Gretel (2024). For the Deutsches Theater, she served as choreographer for the productions Ugly Duckling (2019) and Pygmalion (2024).
Angélique is equally passionate about education and mentorship. She has taught for prestigious dance programs and schools such as Tanztage Intense International and the Flying Steps Academy/Diploma, offering workshops across Europe. Additionally, as a certified M.A. Psychologist and Dance and Movement Therapist, she enriches her artistic work by integrating psychological elements into her performances and teachings, creating a holistic and impactful approach to dance.
